Famous American origin actor & rapper was shot on 7th Sep 1996 and died later on 13th Sep 1996 due to injuries. It’s been 25 years since it happened but, remains a complete mystery because no one knows who shot Tupac. Based on various sources let’s frame what happened that night. The time was around 11:00 PM, both Tupac and Knight were on their way to the death row nightclub, club 662 in his 1996 BMW 7 series sedan. The car was stopped by the police at Las Vegas Boulevard for not having a license plate. But, soon let them go without a ticket as license plates were found in the trunk. At around 11:15 PM at a traffic stop, on the east flamingo road, the red signal was given and they stopped their car. A white four-door Cadillac sedan showed up at the passenger side of the BMW sedan and started to open fire. Tupac lies back down to escape the bullets but no use as he was hit four times, one in the arm, one in the leg, two in the chest. One bullet hit the right lung. Few shards hit Knights' head. According to the bullets used the gun used was a 40 caliber Smith and Wesson Glock 22. Just as the shooting came to a halt, Knight floored on the gas, tires screeching, and was soon stopped by a police bike patrol at Las Vegar Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. They immediately alerted the paramedics.
When Knight stopped the car, Chris carrol, Las Vegas metropolitan police department was on the scene. He described Knight getting out of the car with blood all over his head and shouting back and forth. Knight managed to pull the door on Tupac’s side and his body just fell with no movement. When Chris approached Tupac to get his dying declaration as to who shot him, Tupac just said, “F you” and became unconscious. From there on both Knight and Tupac were rushed to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada where Tupac was kept on life support due to multiple gunshot wounds. Police tried again in the hospital to get his dying declaration but failed as Tupac’s situation is critical that he can’t respond. Simply, one foot is in the grave. After so much effort by the medical staff, nothing changed as Tupac died in the intensive care unit, on the afternoon of 13th September 1996. The official causes of death stated by the hospital staff were Cardiac arrest and respiratory failure due to internal bleeding.
Actually, what happened that night?
Tupac along with his friends and girlfriend Kidada Jones was in Vegas to attend the birthday party of his business partner and friend Tracy Danielle Robinson birthday. On that night Tupac attended a fight between Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon at MGM grand garden arena in which Mike Tyson won. Later in the hotel lobby, A fight broke out between Tupac along with his friends and Orlando Anderson. Anderson was an alleged member of the south side Crompton crips gang. The reason for the fight is, that one of the Tupac’s associates named Trevon Lane told Tupac that, Anderson stole his pendant in a store in Crompton. Tupac approached Anderson and asked,” You from the south?” and punched him in the face. Then Anderson was beaten up by Tupac and his associates. Here we can see Tupac started all the ruckus. Anderson was believed to be a suspect as he was the only one who was humiliated by Tupac that night. But, later in an interview by the Los Angeles Times, he said,” I am not involved in the shootings. I am a big fan of Tupac.”
No one knows who shot Tupac but, there was one witness the night Tupac died, “Yaki Kadafi”. Though Police did not follow up on him. Just three months later he was shot down. Many believe he was shot to cover up what he saw that night. Anderson also can not be questioned as he was also shot down in 1998 by a guy who owed Anderson some money. He died at the age of 23. Police later suspected Suge Knight, as he was believed to be a suspect of the Notorious BIG’s shooting. Police suspect Knight hired a cop, “Rafael Perez” on the payroll to kill Notorious BIG. Suge Knight did this in revenge for Tupac’s death in 1996. Suge Knight was no ordinary gangbanger, he was like a godfather type of the gang. He was the head of the death row records mostly dealing with drugs and also maintaining corrupt cops on payroll to be bodyguards and also hitmen for the gang. The story goes on and on with a lot of connections. Currently, Knight is serving a lengthy prison sentence.
Finally, not proven but claimed to be true was an interview given by Duane Davis, a former member of the south side crips and also uncle to Orlando Anderson. He was diagnosed with cancer which makes him not eligible to be prosecuted. He decided to come clean about Tupac’s murder. In an interview, he said,” I am in the Cadillac that night along with my nephew, Terrance Brown, and Deandre Dre Smith.” In separate interviews, he said Anderson pulled the trigger and in another interview, he didn’t disclose who pulled the trigger. He said,” The reason for the shooting is the fight in the lobby which humiliated Anderson and triggered him to take revenge.” Anyways this was not proven and remains a complete mystery. By studying all the sources the reason was simply Ego and gangster swag that fueled this violence. All this caused the loss of priceless human lives. Writer Rob Marriot wrote,” It’s become obvious to anyone paying attention that the gangsta image, for all its force and bluster, is nothing if tragic, a myth of empowerment with the capacity to rob our generation of its potential greatness.”
The End.
